Mike Yazel has pursued art his entire life. He has worked in Water Color and Oils for over 30 years and is an avid wood carver. Mike has been a painter of the Indiana landscape for decades with a special affinity for its barns and woodlands. He works every year to capture these cathedrals of the farms before they are gone. Most of these structures are well over 100 years old and no longer seem to have place on the modern farm they are being left to return to the soil. More recently he has become interested in the challenge of Plein Aire painting although his first Plein Aire work was completed 33 years ago. Always an avid outdoorsman it seemed a natural transition to move the studio outside to paint on location challenging the elements to better capture the light and color of his subject matter.
